Bush Holley House

In the 1960's the Bush-Holley House northwest end was "restored" to re-instate its early 18th century appearance and installed Colonial Revival style furnishings. An early 20th-century dormer was removed and the sloping roof filled in.  Pocket doors were removed, the opening closed up, and a reproduction hinged-door and casing inserted. The result was a poorly lit passageway with a low, steeply sloping ceiling.

This project removed material from the 1960s restoration, reconstructed the dormer and pocket doors, and restored/repaired the wood-shingle and copper standing seam roofing. All deteriorating roofing was removed and replaced with new material matching historic design, the exposed wood slat sheathing system was replaced with matching material as required, and three brick chimneys were also repaired/re-built as required.
