This transitional center provides a unique program for women who are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless, and suffer from mental health and substance abuse problems. This historic structure, originally built circa 1885 and once the residence of a prominent oyster cultivator, now provides shelter and support for thirteen New Haven women. The alterations fully accomodate the program, while still preserving the character of the historic building.
